Meet our team
Unlike traditional tutoring that can focus only on academic results, we support the whole child — building confidence, emotional resilience and a positive relationship with learning.
All our tutors are qualified teachers with enhanced DBS checks and extensive experience supporting children with a wide range of learning needs.

Laura Jarvis
Founder
ADHD, neurodivergent mum
Laura is a qualified teacher with extensive experience of teaching in both Early Years and primary phases of education. Laura set up Rainbow Learning and Wellbeing in 2018 after noticing a decline in children’s wellbeing at school and a shift towards more formal methods of education. She wanted to create a child-centred business based on a holistic, multi-sensory approach to learning where all children are given opportunities to develop confidence, resilience and self-esteem in a calm and nurturing environment.
“I am passionate about educating the 'whole child' and firmly believe that the key to academic success lies within a fun, practical approach to learning that has a child's wellbeing at its heart. I whole-heartedly believe that good wellbeing underpins all aspects of teaching and learning and that children need to feel safe and connected in order to learn well.”
Emma Malkin
Tutor
Neurodivergent mum
Emma is a highly experienced primary school teacher, having spent over 20 years in the classroom. She specialises in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6).
"I really enjoy forming relationships with children and find that this is a great foundation for success. Once connections are made children feel safe enough to try new ideas and to persevere when things are tricky."

Rachel Thomas
Tutor
ADHD, neurodivergent mum
Rachel has been a teacher for the last 8 years, teaching both Key Stage 1 and 2. Having previously worked in the Library service and as a former Reading Lead, she has a huge passion for books and reading and has a wealth of skills and experience in supporting less confident or reluctant readers.
"Throughout my career, I have supported many children including those with SEND and SEMH and enjoy working closely with parents to support the individual needs of the child to help unlock their learning potential.”
Heather Roberts
Business Support
Dyslexic, neurodivergent mum
Heather previously worked as a Programme Manager, running large scale manufacturing research programmes. With two neurodivergent children, she has refocused her time on family and supports us part-time with our business processes and admin.
“As a proud mum of dyslexic and autistic children, I’ve experienced first-hand how the right support can help a child truly flourish. I’m passionate about using my own strengths to support Laura and the team in their incredible work, helping children grow in confidence, understand their challenges and reach their full potential.”
